In Lafayette, Louisiana, five schools in the Lafayette Parish School System are set to benefit from significant energy-efficient upgrades, thanks to a collaboration between Entergy and H & H Electric. Through Entergy’s Energy Efficiency Program, LED lighting installations will be made at Carencro Middle School, Green T. Lindon Elementary School, L. Leo Judice Elementary School, Milton Elementary School, and Youngsville Middle School, completely funded by the program, amounting to a total project value of $1,687,241. These upgrades are expected to yield projected annual savings of approximately $170,139.90, enabling schools to redirect savings back into their classrooms, as emphasized by Superintendent Francis Touchet Jr. The initiative not only enhances environmental sustainability but also showcases the positive impact of community partnerships in supporting educational resources.
