Mingo Junction celebrated its annual Light Up Night on Monday at Aracoma Park, marking the event’s first relocation to accommodate larger crowds. The festivities featured a countdown to the lighting of a young evergreen tree and the city’s Christmas tree, complemented by new snowflake fixtures downtown. Community members gathered for prayers and performances, including the Hills Elementary School Choir and the Indian Creek High School Band, who entertained with classic holiday songs. Mayor Judy Ruckman and former Mayor John Corrigan emphasized the importance of community and the true meaning of Christmas during their remarks. The evening also included complimentary refreshments, recognition of local sponsors, and a festive atmosphere that underscored the spirit of the holiday season.
