NCERA-101 Honored with 2024 National Award for Excellence in Multistate Research

Celina Gómez, associate professor of controlled environment agriculture at Purdue University, has played a key role in the North Central Extension & Research Activity-101 (NCERA-101) Committee being awarded the 2024 Excellence in Multistate Research Award. This prestigious recognition, granted by the North Central Regional Association of State Agricultural Experiment Station Directors, celebrates outstanding collaborative research that enhances the visibility of multistate programs. NCERA-101, consisting of 176 members from 142 institutions across 35 states, is dedicated to advancing plant science through controlled environment technology. The committee will also be acknowledged at an upcoming award ceremony hosted by the Association of Public Land-grant Universities. With its focus on sustainable agricultural practices and overcoming challenges in food production, NCERA-101 is poised to make significant contributions to the field, especially as interest in controlled environment agriculture continues to rise.
