The Program Board of Knowledge in your Greenhouse and the Ministry of LVVN have launched 12 new initiatives as part of the Greenhouse as a Source of Energy research program, with some projects already underway. Among the three co-funded by the Kennis in je Kas program are studies on using organic waste for biogenic CO2 needs, developing innovative greenhouse materials to enhance sunlight utilization, and assessing the impacts of Medium Temperature Storage on groundwater quality. The remaining nine projects, funded by the Ministry of LVVN, focus on various energy efficiency strategies, including CO2 capture, energy-saving greenhouse coverings, and sustainable cultivation practices for flowers like chrysanthemum and lily. These projects aim to drive advancements in energy efficiency and sustainability within greenhouse horticulture.
