New LED Lighting Installed at Duke of Gordon's Monument by Local Council

Moray Council has introduced a new LED lighting system on the Duke of Gordon’s Monument in Elgin, enhancing its visibility for various awareness days and special occasions. Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the system allows the monument to be illuminated in different colors, showcasing its architectural beauty and fostering community solidarity. After sunset, a vibrant display cycles through colors for five minutes before settling into a pre-programmed hue until sunrise. The inaugural lighting event is set for April 2-8, 2025, in white and turquoise to honor Autism Acceptance Week. Moray Council’s Civic Leader, Cllr John Cowe, expressed excitement about the initiative, emphasizing its role in supporting community causes and enriching public spaces.
