Upgrades at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento are underway as the baseball season approaches for the River Cats and the Oakland Athletics. The renovation includes new stadium lights, with recent road closures on 5th Street facilitating installation work. City officials have indicated that the ballpark is undergoing multimillion-dollar renovations to meet Major League Baseball standards, featuring improvements such as a new MLB clubhouse, enhanced premium suite areas, and ADA seating. The Athletics are expected to temporarily relocate to Sutter Health Park for the 2024 season as part of a three-year agreement before their move to Las Vegas in 2028. The River Cats will kick off the baseball season with an exhibition game against the San Francisco Giants on March 23, followed by their Opening Day on March 28, and the A’s first home game on March 31 against the Chicago Cubs. Single-game tickets for both teams are now available for purchase.
