North Schuylkill School Board Greenlights $1.4 Million Project for Athletic Field Lighting

The North Schuylkill School Board has approved a significant lighting upgrade project for local sports facilities, amounting to nearly $1.5 million. In a recent 8-1 vote, the board greenlit a proposal from Keystone Sports Construction to replace the lighting at Spartan stadium and install new systems at the Dot Seidel Softball Field and the Robert Wetzel baseball Field, with about $500,000 of the cost funded through grants. The board also approved contracts for other improvements, including a $241,975 project to resurface the track at Ghosh Orthodontics Field and a $304,131.35 project to repave the stadium area. Both track resurfacing and paving contracts were unanimously approved. Additionally, the board proposed a 2025-2026 budget that does not include a tax increase.
