Paralimni-Deryneia Set to Implement Smart LED Lighting and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Paralimni-Deryneia mayor Giorgos Nikolettos and Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) director-general Adonis Yiassimidis have signed a new agreement aimed at enhancing local infrastructure through the replacement of traditional streetlights with energy-efficient smart LED lighting. The initiative, set to commence immediately, is designed to improve street lighting services, reduce energy consumption, and contribute to the development of a smart city. Additionally, the agreement includes the installation of 11 electric vehicle chargers across various locations, encouraging the use of electric and hybrid vehicles among residents and visitors. Mayor Nikolettos expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, noting its potential financial benefits for the municipality and its role in promoting sustainable transportation.
