The Saturday night game between the San Diego Padres and Atlanta Braves in Atlanta was postponed due to rain and lightning, prompting a split doubleheader to be scheduled for Monday, with an additional game at 6:20 p.m. alongside the previously planned 12:20 p.m. matchup. Initially set to pitch on Saturday, Padres’ right-hander Yu Darvish will now take the mound on Sunday, with the Padres also expecting to reinstate Joe Musgrove from the injured list, though his return may be delayed until the upcoming series in Cincinnati. Braves’ Bryce Elder has been moved to Sunday as well, with Reynaldo López and Chris Sale set to start on Monday. Additionally, Braves’ relief pitcher Pierce Johnson was reinstated from the injured list, while Travis d’Arnaud remains available for emergencies, and Austin Riley continues to recover from left side inflammation. The series will proceed with the remaining games on Sunday and Monday.
