River Capital Backs Expansion Plans for Established Blackpool Kennels

Cozy Kennels & Cattery, a pet care services company in Blackpool, has secured a £50,000 loan from River Capital to enhance its facilities. The funding, part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II, will support significant renovations, including modernizing reception and staff areas, improving outdoor spaces and kennel facilities, and installing new grooming equipment and sustainable lighting. Established for 17 years, Cozy Kennels, which cares for up to 57 dogs and 11 cats, aims to create an additional full-time role with this investment, furthering its commitment to high-quality pet care. Sarah Reid, the facility manager, expressed excitement about the improvements, while Jonathan Nelson from River Capital highlighted the company’s resilience and potential for regional job creation. The initiative aligns with NPIF II’s goal to foster economic growth in underserved areas of Northern England.
