Siemens Launches Legal Action Over Patented LED Lighting Technology Against Samsung and LG
Siemens has initiated legal action against Samsung and LG, alleging that both companies have infringed on its patented LED lighting technology, which is crucial for converting blue light into white light used in televisions and household bulbs. The lawsuits were filed in Hamburg, Germany, and through the International Trade Commission and U.S. District Court in Delaware. Siemens intends to pursue similar claims against LG in Tokyo and China as well. This legal move comes as Siemens prepares to sell a majority stake in Osram, the second-largest lighting technology manufacturer globally, over the next three months.
