Space Shuttle Atlantis Launches Equipped with Lumenpulse LED Technology
The Kennedy Space Center has unveiled a groundbreaking exhibit featuring the space shuttle Atlantis displayed in full flight mode, making it the first museum to do so. Utilizing over 250 LED fixtures from Lumenpulse, the lighting design crafted by Fisher Marantz Stone recreates the unique lighting conditions of outer space, allowing visitors to experience the orbiter as it would appear in its natural environment. The choice of LED technology not only enhances the exhibit’s visuals but also addresses practical issues such as maintenance and reliability. Lumenpulse CEO Francois-Xavier Souvay emphasized the importance of this installation in honoring the Atlantis and providing an engaging experience for visitors interested in NASA’s space shuttle program. The exhibit is part of a larger 90,000 square feet space dedicated to the history of NASA’s Space Shuttle Program.
