Sporting KC Leader Recognized as Major League Soccer’s Executive of the Year

Jake Reid, President and CEO of Sporting Kansas City, received Major League soccer’s prestigious Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year award on Monday. Since joining the club in 2010, Reid has significantly expanded its operations, overseeing a staff that has more than doubled during his tenure and leading the team to hallmark achievements, including a record crowd of 72,610 fans at the GEHA Field at Arrowhead stadium this year. Under his leadership, Sporting Kansas City has also hosted major events at Children’s Mercy Park, such as the inaugural Copa America match in Kansas City. Additionally, Reid plays a vital role in the community, serving on various boards and leading initiatives in support of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 26 in Kansas City, confirming his influential presence in both the sport and local civic engagement.
