Spring Progress on Hockey Expansion at St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex

St. Cloud is set to embark on a $17 million renovation project for its Municipal Athletic Complex (MAC), spearheaded by Community Services and Facilities Director Scott Zlotnik and Apex Engineering Group. Construction is expected to start in late April or early May 2025 and aims to enhance the facility significantly by summer 2026. The upgrades will include three new locker rooms for local hockey teams, a dryland training area, and improved refrigeration and mechanical systems to meet environmental standards. Zlotnik emphasized the project’s focus on benefiting high school athletic programs following a previous referendum defeat. The renovations will provide better facilities for users, boost energy efficiency, and promote long-term sustainability, with an emphasis on fiscal responsibility throughout the process.
