Exciting developments are underway for hockey enthusiasts in Geelong and the Surf Coast, as the concept design phase for significant upgrades at Stead Park in Corio has been completed. The plans include the construction of a new pavilion that will replace the existing one, strategically located between two hockey pitches for easy access. The new facility will feature four change rooms, officials’ rooms, a canteen, and both team and equipment storage on the ground floor, while the second level will offer a social space, meeting room, kitchen, and terrace seating overlooking the pitches. Enhancements to the western pitch will incorporate new fencing, improved drainage, an electronic scoreboard, and upgraded lighting, preparing the venue for national-level hockey events. Additional parking, including accessible options, will further enhance the experience for players and spectators alike.
