Suspect Charged with Starting Cardboard Blaze That Ignited Major New Jersey Fire

A man named Salvatore Gellura has been charged with arson following a significant fire at a storage facility in Cape May Court House, New Jersey, which caused damage to over 50 storage units. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, prompting a rapid response from Middle Township Police and multiple fire departments. Gellura allegedly started the fire by igniting cardboard in a metal container while trying to keep warm in his storage unit. He has been charged with third-degree arson and fourth-degree false reporting to law enforcement. One individual was hospitalized for smoke inhalation as authorities work to investigate the incident further. Gellura is currently held at the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
