Warkworth Electricians Shine with Recognition

Davco Electrical Services, a Warkworth-based company, celebrated a significant achievement at the 2024 Master Electricians Excellence Awards by winning the Lighting Design Award for their innovative installation, “Te Hokinga Mahara” (Collection of Memories). Led by director David Morrison, the project showcases a dynamic light and sound art installation spanning 180 meters along the Mahurangi riverbank, opposite the wharf. With 35 programmable LED lights and sound integrated into the natural landscape, the installation has been praised for its creativity and technical execution, particularly the challenges faced in powering the lights across the river. The installation is designed to be viewed during summer evenings at 8 and 9 PM, Friday to Sunday, further enhancing the local community’s experience of the area.
